POP-UP-BOUTIQUE WEST COAST
Contemporary Fashion Design from Romandie
27. – 29. September 2024

Bienvenue à Zürich!

MAISON SHIFT and the K18a Collective invite designers and labels from the Romandie (the French part of Switzerland) to the Kasernenareal as part of the Zurich Design Weeks.

When Maison Shift first showcased labels at the Design Days in Lausanne last June, strong connections were formed, sparking a desire to bring more visibility to the vibrant local fashion scene. Now, the Romands are making their way to Zurich. In the curated "Pop-up Boutique West Coast - Contemporary Fashion Design from Romandie," you can discover clothing, jewelry, and accessories.

MAISON SHIFT in collaboration with Swiss Fashion Point.

The Kollektiv K18a Collective is opening its doors at the Kasernenareal, creating a bridge between Northern and Western Switzerland in its showroom. The guest of honor is the NOV Gallery from Geneva, presenting the exhibition "Out of the Woodworks," which features the work of young Swiss designers focused on "wood reuse." Additionally, selected studios from the K18a Collective will open their doors, showcasing works in ceramics, fashion, and product design.

Le SHIFT Talk: On September 28th 2024 the design magazine Espaces Contemporains, launched 30 years ago, invites designers from both sides of the Röstigraben for a conversation reflecting on these last 30 years of design. It can be anticipated that design, like the world, is in constant change, or rather, shift. But what are the contributions of Swiss design?

Le SHIFT Talk – Espaces Contemporains and Apèro, 20 Jahre Schweizer Design
Saturday 28.9.2024

16–18h

Founded 20 years ago, the Swiss design magazine Espaces Contemporains invites designers from both sides of the Röstigraben to a conversation that looks back on the last 20 years of design and looks to the future, focusing on the specificity of design in French-speaking Switzerland. For decades, the region has been fertile ground for the many facets of design, from industrial to graphic design, from watchmaking to fashion and interactive design. The talk will be held in English.

Talk partners:
  • Laurence Imstepf, founder and designer of the Geneva fashion label MademoiselleL and the Swiss Fashion Point association
  • Nicole Chebeir, founder and director of Galerie NOV in Geneva, which promotes young Swiss designers
  • Frédéric Dedelley, industrial designer from French-speaking Switzerland, who now lives in Zurich
  • Hervé Rigal, graphic designer and founder of the Genfer Agentur Base Design and author of the rebranding of Bongénie's new identity

Moderation: Patricia Lunghi, journalist for Espaces contemporains.

Konzert – Pascal Gamboni & Florian Egli live «Caos El Paradis»
Sa 28.9.2024

21.30h
Pascal Gamboni presents his new album CAOS EL PARADIS. A concept album full of Rhaeto-Romanic songs and stories. How do you find your way in the chaos of everyday life? How can you stay true to yourself? How can you let go without being afraid and how do you manage not to take yourself too seriously? Instead of expecting the world to change, Gamboni tries to find peace in the chaos, in the eye of the hurricane.
