Spatial installation at MAISON SHIFT during Zurich Design Weeks
The spatial installation Phantom Ornaments invites a conversation about Swiss textile heritage and its transformation.
The poetic installation reimagines Switzerland’s embroidery tradition, once a driving force of innovation in the textile industry and a cornerstone of economic prosperity. Composed from audio recordings of historic Swiss embroidery machines, the work brings historical embroidery motifs back to life in a new form — immaterial, in constant motion, and unfolding in dialogue with embroidery, silk fabrics, and projections.
